How to still feel productive during Covid-19

It has been since March that I was working at our school. At first, it was a relief. I was feeling burned out and was happy when our Spring Break started. But then we never went back. Nutrition workers, however,  still went in to make meals. Bus Drivers went in and delivered the meals (Thank you to you folks!) Paraeducators were called in a few times to help the bus drivers. But this is the first time in 15 years I have not had to stress about standardized testing in May. There was no crazy last week of school when a million things are happening and ending all at once. I am happy to have missed that stress. But it is replaced with a different type of stress. There is the stress of hearing about those who are getting sick. The worry that someone close to us might get sick. And the not-as-important-but still-undeniable stress of not feeling productive. It has been the mantra for entire life- always be doing something

So I have been puttering. I have 4 or 5 different projects going on at once. None of them are done and I'm thinking about adding more. I seem to be all over the place in my mind. I feel like my brain has atrophied. I am trying to practice self care. I came across this article that I found helpful:


I know we are in uncharted territory. Let's be gentle with ourselves and others during this time.
